VISION

EXPERT aims to develop a novel off-the-shelf delivery system for mRNA-based nanomedicines that is ready for clinical testing. As initial targets, we are striving to improve diagnostic and therapeutic options for two major disease classes, namely cancer and cardiovascular disease. The platform technology could, however, be used for several other diseases in the long term.

APPLICATION AREAS

EXPERT strives to develop novel mRNA therapeutics for two major diseases. While the project’s frontrunner application strives to activate the immune system to eradicate cancer, EXPERT also explores mRNA-induced cardiac regeneration as a treatment for patients suffering from heart failure.

Our vision is to complement existing clinical studies with mRNA therapeutics and to overcome some of the main obstacles that mRNA-based therapy approaches are facing on their way to the market. The off-the-shelf EXPERT approach could substantially lower the costs of such treatments enabling their use for more patients and different types of diseases.
