Expanding EXPERT Nanotechnology Expertise: Coordinator Professor Raymond Schiffelers Interviewed by European Commission
Over more than five years, the recently concluded Horizon 2020 project B-SMART explored novel ways to deliver RNA nanomedicines to the brain to treat neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s. An article on the European Commission’s CORDIS website (available in six languages) now offers insights from Professor Raymond Schiffelers (UMCU) – coordinator for both B-SMART and EXPERT – on the compelling outcomes of the project.
The article, moreover, highlights how B-SMART partners overcame the challenge of crossing the barrier to the brain and explains how the B-SMART findings feed into research endeavours such as EXPERT.
